P.K Srinivasan's contribution to the discovery of the man who knew infinity, Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose genius in Mathematics continues to dazzle the world, is internationally recognized. P.K Srinivasan founded the Number Friends' Society at Muthialpet High School, where he served as a math teacher first and then was elevated as its Headmaster. Combining resources through the society, Srinivasan edited and brought out two Ramanujan Memorial Volumes which are greatly used today as reference material internationally and are extensively quoted in several publications like Robert Kanigel's "The Man who knew infinity" and in several works of pioneers in the world of Math like Berndt, Rankin and others. P.K Srinivasan, along with few of his inspired students, toured the whole of South India to collect memorabilia of Srinivasa Ramanujan, which included his several letters and unpublished works. The originals of these are displayed at the Ramanujan Museum, set up by P.K. Srinivasan at Royapuram. P.K Srinivasan was also an active member of the Ramanujan Museum Committee, Madras University.
