P.K Srinivasan was given the National Science Award for Best Effort in Popularization of Mathematics. He was also awarded by The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology for popularization of mathematics.

-> Set up RAMANUJAN MUSEUM & MATH EDUCATION CENTRE as a unit of Avvai Academy and it was declared open in 1993 by Sri. C. Subramanian, former Governor of Maharashtra and serving as its Curator since then.

-> Conducted in 1995 the first ever STATE SEMINAR & WORKSHOP on KOLAM AND SCHOOL MATHEMATICS held at Avvai Academy under the directionship of Prof (Mrs) Rani Shiromoney of Madras Christian College.

-> Held a four day ALGEBRA FESTIVAL in Apr. '94 at P.S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, Chennai - 4. The festival projected the efforts of 10 try out schools and 5 guest schools in executing the two year ('92 - 94') PRIMARY ALGEBRA from class III project funded by MHRD, Govt. of India. It involved street children, slum children and Narikkorava children.

-> Served as initiator and Coordinator of the programmes under four year ('92-'96) MHRD funded project on IMPROVEMENT OF MATH EDUCATION IN RURAL AREAS.

-> Served as Consultant in organizing for ten years ('85-'94) under the auspices of the Extension Services Dept. of St. Christopher's college of Education, Vepery, Chennai 7 annual INTER SCHOOL MATH PROJECTS EXPO - an off beat programme to promote creativity among mathematically inclined students at IX and XI standard levels.

-> Designed, developed and got produced portable MATH LEARNING KITS for PRIMARY SCHOOL and MIDDLE SCHOOL levels. A MATH MELA was held and it attracted a lot of attention from public and media.

-> Organised the first year ever CITY INTER SCHOOL PRIMARY V MATH OLYMPIAD in 1995 Feb. and repeated in 1996 Feb. and 1997 Feb. It has received enthusiastic support from schools and parents. This marked NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY.

-> Organised math camps for talented children in math at primary V level.

-> Organised Supportive Recreational Math Workshop for Practising Math Teachers '96.

-> Organised School Managements meet thrice to makr National Science Day in '95, '96 & '97.

-> Organised two programmes in '97. PRIMARY MATH LEARNING THROUGH KITS and CULTURALISATION OF MATHEMATICS through staging skits with mathematical themes and performance of magic square dances under grant from TAMILNADU COUNCIL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY.

-> Organised for 2 years '67 - '69 the first ever INTER SCHOOL MATH TALENT SEARCH CONTEST which was taken up by AMTI and finally by NBHM under the caption MATH OLYMPIAD.

-> Given in Feb. 28, '91 NATIONAL SCIENCE AWARD for popularization of Mathematics among children by NCSTC - DST, Delhi.

-> Declared a winner in the 13th Seminar Readings of NCERT - DELHI held in '76 for my write up that was on MODERN vs TRADITIONAL APPROACH TO TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS.

-> Organised thrice INTER SCHOOL MATH FAIR '73-'76.

-> Organised thrice INTER SCHOOL MATH CLUBS MEET '73-'76 preceded by helping many city schools to start Math club.

-> His low-cost and no-cost teaching aids now present in rural schools called Sattellite schools of Rishi Valley, KFI, Andhrapradesh is so successful that it received Govt. of Japan's Award. Present Activity Based Learning (ABL) of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu is based on this teaching method of PKS.
